Shannon
Schedule recovery continues at pace at Shannon Airport, with Ryanair flying to six additional destinations in W21/22 versus its pre-COVID schedule, providing an additional 100,000 seats.

“More flights, 19 destinations, more choice, and 100,000 extra seats this winter,” enthuses Declan Power, Head of Aviation Development at Shannon Airport.

The new W21/22 schedule announced by Ryanair includes new links to London Luton (twice weekly), Budapest (twice weekly), Fuerteventura (weekly), Edinburgh (twice weekly), Turin (weekly), Birmingham (twice weekly) and Gran Canaria (weekly). “These join existing services to London Stansted, London Gatwick, Manchester, Krakow, Wroclaw, Warsaw, Kaunas, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Malaga and Alicante,” adds Power, who is attending the 149th Slot Conference this week in Rome. Summer services to Corfu, Faro, Palma, and Reus continued until the end of October.

Ryanair growth

“This is a significant increase on W19/20 with Ryanair flying to six additional destinations over the pre-COVID schedule, operating 98 weekly frequencies [an increase of 24 on 2019] and as a result providing an additional 100,000 seats at Shannon,” explains Power.

“On top of all this increase in services, we were delighted to welcome Aer Lingus back to Shannon with the return of the London Heathrow service on September 13, bringing the total to 19 destinations on offer from Shannon this winter,” concludes Power.
