New Route of the Day (26 September 2021): LOT Polish Airlines between Warsaw and Dubai

WAW - DXB

On 26 September, LOT Polish Airlines began 3-weekly service on the 4,160-kilometre route between its home base in Warsaw and Dubai in the UAE. The inaugural service (flight number LO 121 operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8, registration SP-LVA) departed Warsaw WAW at 08:21 and touched down in Dubai five hours and 22 minutes later at 15:43 local time. The return flight (LO 122) departed the UAE hub at 17:25 and landed back in Poland five hours and 44 minutes later at 21:09 local time, according to flightradar24.com. Flights are set to operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. Competition on the route comes from Emirates’ daily service (launched in February 2013) and flydubai’s daily service which launched this week on 30 September. One factor explaining this sudden surge in new routes to/from Dubai is the opening of the delayed EXPO 2020 event on 1 October.

17th European carrier to serve Dubai

This new service is currently LOT’s seventh longest route after its three US routes (Chicago ORD, New York EWR and New York JFK) and its non-stop services to Seoul, Tokyo and Toronto. It also becomes the 17th European carrier to currently offer non-stop flights to Dubai in October (w/c 18 October) according to Cirium Data and Analytics schedule information.
