New Route of the Day (9 August 2022): Norse Atlantic Airways between Oslo and Los Angeles

Norse Atlantic Airways launched non-stop service between Oslo and Los Angeles on Tuesday 9 August. The 8,600-kilometre route will be served 3-weekly, departing the Norwegian capital on Tuesdays (at 06:30), Thursdays (at 11:00) and Saturdays (at 15:30). The route was previously served by Norwegian from June 2014 to October 2019. Weekly frequency peaked at 3-weekly in W17/18. Norse Atlantic launched its first US service from Oslo to New York JFK on 14 June (operating daily), followed by Fort Lauderdale on 18 June (3-weekly). Then came Orlando (3-weekly from 5 July). The inaugural flight to Los Angeles was operated by the airline’s 787-9, registration LN-FNE, and took 10 hours and 40 minutes. The return flight back to Oslo took 9 hours and 31 minutes.

A second route to Los Angeles is set to be launched by Norse Atlantic from Berlin on 19 August. Flights will operate on this route on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
