New Route of the Day – Americas (3 December 2021): Avianca between Bogota and Toronto YYZ
Avianca on Friday 3 December launched a new, non-stop service between Bogota in Colombia and Toronto YYZ in Canada. Flights will operate 3-weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays using the airline’s A319s. The 4,350-kilometre route is already being flown 4-weekly by Air Canada. The Canadian carrier, and fellow Star Alliance member, uses much larger A330-300s on the city-pair.
What they said
Rolando Damas, General Director of Avianca for Mexico, North America, the Caribbean and Asia, said: “Connecting Canada with Colombia is a strategic point for Avianca’s proposal to have more direct flights and have the most robust network in the region. We are excited about this new route, and we know that with the product and service that we offer, the Canadian passenger will choose us for their flights to Colombia and other destinations in South America with which we offer important connectivity from the Bogota hub.”
