Neither route will be served in November by any other carrier. Frequency on the Boston route is set to reach daily by the beginning of 2022.

Delta resuming JFK service in March 2022

The San Antonio to JFK route was previously served by Delta between October 2005 and March 2020. According to Cirium Data and Analytics it plans to resume service on the route on 7 March 2022 with a daily service operated by A220-100s. American has been operating the JFK route this year from 17 August to 31 October (using A319s) and will resume the route on 4 January 2022 using 737-800s. Meanwhile the Boston route has not been served for at least 20 years.

What they said

Andrea Lusso, VP Network Planning, JetBlue Airways, said: “The new service to San Antonio is an indicator of the growing demand between the southwest and the northeast and our customers’ return to the skies. With San Antonio being Boston’s largest unserved destination, we are excited to offer our customers traveling for business and leisure our award-winning service and an opportunity to explore the city’s rich history and cultural experiences.”

Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System, added: “This is thrilling because the addition of JetBlue offers another great choice for travelers. Prior to the pandemic, Boston was the top unserved market in the US and now travelers can fly non-stop to the city. In addition, the compliment of New York JFK service offers even more options between the two markets.”
