This year marks a historic milestone for Copenhagen Airport as it proudly celebrates its 100th anniversary, a century of aviation made possible by the continued support of its airline partners.

From its modest beginnings in 1925, with a grassy airfield and a wooden terminal, Copenhagen Airport has grown into a leading international hub, now connecting travelers to more than 180 destinations across 350 routes.

This autumn has brought several exciting developments to the airport’s route network. It supported SAS, Copenhagen’s largest carrier, in launching the first-ever nonstop route to Korea, connecting the airport to the vibrant city of Seoul.

It also welcomed IndiGo to Copenhagen for the very first time, celebrating the launch of its new direct service to Mumbai and the beginning of a promising partnership.

Additionally, Etihad Airways has strengthened the airport’s Middle Eastern connectivity by increasing its Abu Dhabi service from five weekly flights to daily operations.

On 16 December, the airport looks forward to welcoming Vietnam Airlines, which will introduce a nonstop service between Copenhagen and Ho Chi Minh City.

Looking ahead to summer 2026, while the full traffic program is still being finalised, the team at Copenhagen Airport is already seeing strong signs of growth.

PRAGUE AIRPORT

SAS has announced seven new routes from Copenhagen, the conversion of eight seasonal peak routes to full summer operations, and increased frequencies on more than 25 existing routes, a clear indication of rising demand and continued expansion.

Additionally, Norwegian, the second-largest carrier at Copenhagen Airport, will launch a new route to Cluj-Napoca in Romania.

The airport looks forward to even more exciting route opportunities as the summer program continues to take shape.

From 18th – 20th November, Copenhagen Airport’s Airline Sales team will be attending the 157th IATA Slot Conference in Lisbon. They invite all attendees to visit them at Stand 49 and meet the team:

  • Morten Mortensen, Head of Airline Sales
  • Simon Nathan, Commercial Strategy and Route Development Lead
  • Johan Kofoed, Senior Route Development Manager
  • Morten Poulsen, Senior Manager Business Development
  • Christian Boed, Route Development Manager

They look forward to discussing new route opportunities and strengthening their relationships with airline partners, slot coordinators, and industry colleagues – as they shape the next century of aviation together.
