Themes of the Week

  • AeroMexico added an additional two new U.S. routes this week.
  • Allegiant added eight new routes.
  • American suspended service from AUS this fall on six routes.
  • Avelo added 18 new routes.
  • JetBlue will exit seven destinations and will add/resume seven routes.
  • Southwest added new/resumed service on eight routes.

AeroMexico (AM)

  • Filed two new once weekly routes starting in December: DEN to Monterrey, MX (MTY), which was last served in Jan 2020 and LAX to Manzanillo, MX (ZLO).

 

Air France (AF)

  • Added Consumer Electronic Show (CES) flights from Paris (CDG) to LAS in January.

 

Allegiant (G4)

  • Announced and filed eight new routes starting in November: CVG to MLB; FLL to SAV and SWF; FNT to VPS; GRR to PBI; SAV to PGD and PIE; and PSM to SRQ.

 

American (AA)

  • Added ABQ Balloon Fiesta flights to AUS in October.
  • Suspended AUS service from October onward (with the exception of Thanksgiving) from LAS, MCO, MSY and PSP. RDU service has been suspended from December 19 through April 3. RNO service was scheduled to return in May 2025, and that was removed this week.
  • Suspended service from CVG to RDU from November 5 onward.
  • Removed LAX to TPA service from future schedules. Service was scheduled to return in December.
  • Suspended LGA to PWM from November 5 through March.
  • Suspended 12 routes from October through November.

 

Avelo (XP)

  • Announced and filed 18 new routes: LAL to ATL, BDL, ILG, MHT, ROC, SJU and USA; USA to ALB, BDL, ILG, MHT and ROC; BDL to CUN, DAB, HOU, ILM and MBJ; and ILM to RSW.

 

Contour (LF)

  • Filed new service between Altoona, PA (AOO) and CLT starting in October. This will replace their PHL service.

 

Delta (DL)

  • Resumed BOS to SRQ service from December onward. Market was last served in March 2020.

 

Fiji Airways (FJ)

  • Removed previously filed DFW to Nadi, Fiji (NAN). Likely still waiting on government approval before they file the flights.

 

Flair (F8)

  • FLL to YKF and PHX to YYC were suspended from October through December 15.

 

Frontier (F9)

  • Suspended 11 routes from October through November and 27 routes from October through April.
  • Removed eight routes from future schedules: MCO to CMH, MEM, MKE, MSN, MSP and PIT; LAS to OMA; and MKE to RSW.

 

JetBlue (B6)

  • Filed the exit of seven destinations effective the end of October: BUR, CLT, GYE (still has JFK filed), MSP, PSP, SAT and TLH.
  • Suspended RDU to CUN and MCO; EWR to MBJ; and LAX to NAS, SJD and SLC from late fall onward.
  • Suspended Amsterdam (AMS) to BOS; AUS to JFK; BOS to MKE; and JFK to SEA from late October to March/April.
  • Filed and announced new service from late October onward: BUF to PBI; MHT to FLL, MCO and RSW; resuming service from MCO to PWM (last served in January 2012); and resuming PVD service to RSW and TPA (last served May 2022).

 

Billund Airport

Southwest (WN)

  • Extended their schedule through March 5.
  • Filed new and resumed service in Jan/Feb through March: ALB to SRQ; BOS to MCO; BUF to PBI; CMH to MIA; MDW to PSP; MIA to PIT; PBI to PVD; and ROC to RSW.
  • Seasonally suspended 12 routes from January 5 through March.

 

United (UA)

  • Suspended EWR to Hong Kong (HKG) from October through March 28.
  • Resumed EWR to Port of Spain, TT (POS) in December and January. Market was last served in January 2020.
  • Removed IAD to SRQ from future schedules.

 

WestJet (WS)

  • Filed and announced new service from YLW to SEA starting on January 17.

The FY 2025 Government GSA Award has been announced

  • Over 14k markets were awarded.
  • Top three markets are: ATL to DCA, won by Delta with ~122 daily passengers; SAN to SEA, won by Alaska with ~105 daily passengers; and ORF to SAN, won by AA with ~98 daily passengers.
