  • Americans love football and so do the airlines; Alaska, Allegiant and Southwest added more special flights this week.
  • Discover discovers a new MCO route.
  • JetBlue is adding two new Caribbean routes to JFK.
  • United will suspend several China and India routes this winter.
  • United has refiled Faro, Portugal in May 2025.
  • Volaris added LAS to Tijuana (TIJ).

Aeroméxico

  • Removed ATL to Merida, Mexico (MID) from July onward. Service started in March.

 

Alaska

  • Added PDX to DTW for the Oregon and Michigan college football game on November 2.
  • Upgauged PDX to ABQ flights to mainline during the Balloon Fiesta.
  • Suspended flights from December 3 through 17 and January 6 through February: FLL to PDX and SFO; and SFO to TPA.
  • Removed LAX to TPA from future schedules.
  • Suspended winter service from JAC to SFO.

 

Allegiant

  • Announced and filed special flights for NFL games this fall.
  • Removed BWI to SRQ and EUG to LAX from future schedules.
  • Suspended several flights from Mid-August through January.
  • Reduced September and October capacity 5% week over week.

 

American

  • Reduced September capacity 4% week over week.
  • Filed seasonal suspensions in five routes.

 

Canada Jetlines

  • Suspended MIA to YYZ from November onward.

 

Discover

  • Announced and filed new service from Munich, Germany (MUC) to MCO starting in March.

 

JetBlue

PRAGUE AIRPORT
  • Announced and filed two new twice weekly routes starting this fall: JFK to Bonaire (BON) and St Vincent (SVD).
  • Suspended JFK to RNO from August 12 through September.

 

Southwest

  • Filed previously announced NFL football game flights from BUF to HOU, IND, LAX and MCI this fall.
  • Seasonally suspended several routes this fall.
  • Reduced August and September capacity 2% week over week.

 

Spirit

  • Extended the schedule through January 8.
  • Increased August through October capacity 1% week over week.
  • Resumed BNA to MSY in September. Market last served in April 2020.
  • Filed new summer seasonal service from mid-August through September 3 in BWI to CHS and MKE; and DTW to ORD.

 

United

  • Suspended many China and India routes from October through March 28.
  • Refiled EWR to Faro, Portugal (FAO) to start on May 23.

 

Volaris

  • Announced and filed new service from Tijuana, Mexico (TIJ) to LAS starting October 29.
  • Removed Huatulco, Mexico (HUX) to ORD from future schedules.

 

Vuela El Salvador

  • Filed new service between San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL) and MIA starting October 28.

 

WestJet

  • Seasonally suspended MCO to YHM from July through October 26.
