Allegiant filed their previously announced 12 new routes starting in May.
American increased capacity in May 1% week over week. They removed FLL to LAX from future schedules. American added flights from DFW to DAB for the Daytona 500 in February and they also added special mid-Winter school break flights from BOS, LGA and ORD to Florida. They extended the suspension of JFK to Tel Aviv, Israel (TLV) until February 15. Seasonal service in LAX to SLC and TPA; and IDA to PHX were extended until June 4.
Avelo reduced capacity in January 9% and February 12% week over week. They are bringing down capacity because as Courtney Goff explains: “the Q1 timeframe typically does have lower demand in these markets, we chose to utilize this time to lessen frequencies and seasonally exit so our planes are in a good position for peak spring/summer travel,” They suspended 13 routes in Q1. Some routes are permanent exits like MLB; LAS to ACV; LAS to DBQ; and RDU to SRQ.
Sichuan Airlines filed new service from LAX to Chengdu, China (TFU) starting November 28.
United removed previously added FLL and MCO special flights to LAS for the Consumer Electric Show (CES) in January. They filed previously announced Tulum, Mexico (TQO) routes starting in Spring 2024 to EWR, IAH, LAX and ORD. They extended the suspension of TLV routes to January 9 from EWR, IAD, ORD and SFO. They filed new weekly service from IAH to Santa Fe, NM (SAF) from March 31 onward.
WestJet filed and announced new service from MSP to Regina, SK (YQR) from April 28 onward.
