Themes of the Week
- Delta is adding LAX to PHL while ending SEA to PHL.
- If you ever wished for even more capacity in LAX to SFO, Alaska, American and United all added flights this week. In 2027 there will be up to 42 daily flights on the route.
Small Community Air Service Development Grant (SCASD) Winners Announced
Congrats to Eastern Iowa Airport (CID), Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (FLG) and Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) on being selected for this year’s SCASD grants!
- 13 airports won a total of $19.975m in grant funding.
- One was for an air service study for $375k (Dutch Harbor, AK DUT).
- One was for marketing support for existing service from LAF to ORD – $250k (smallest grant awarded).
- 11 for MRGs and all from different states.
- Nine had confirmed airline letters of support.
- AA gave four letters (AGS, CID, ICT and BTR).
- OO/UA gave seven letters (AGS, BTR, EWN, FLG, GJT, LAF and TVC).
- OO/DL gave two letters (CWA and FLG).
- 10 were for legacy airline service and only Latrobe was for new ULCC service to FL.

Capacity Update
Air Canada (AC)
- Resuming YYZ to Tel Aviv, Israel (TLV) on December 1, which is earlier than planned..
- Removed YYZ to Zihuatanejo (ZIH) from future schedules. It was scheduled to operate from October 29 through April 29.
Alaska (AS)
- Increased capacity on four LAX routes in Spring 2027: PAE, PDX, SFO and STS.
- Increased capacity on three PAE routes in Spring 2027: LAX, SAN and SFO.
American (AA)
- Suspended AVL and LEX from PHL from February through March.
- Increased capacity in LAX to SFO with an extra three flights per day from January through May.
- Upgauged MIA flights in January through April in four markets: CID, ICT, LEX and SGF.
Asiana (OZ)
- Suspended Seoul, South Korea (ICN) to SEA from October 12 through December 16.
Avelo (XP)
- Increased capacity from HVN on seven routes in March and April: DAB, ILM, IND, MYR, RSW, SRQ and USA.
Breeze (MX)
- Filed new twice weekly service from DJT to GSP from December onward.
Delta (DL)
- Added new once daily service from LAX to PHL from June 7 onwards. They last served this route in June 2012.
- Suspended JFK to DFW from January 4 onward.
- Suspended LGA to Nassau, Bahamas (NAS) from May 6 onward.
- Suspended SEA to PHL from December onward.
- Added two OMA routes for the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in April from BOS and LAX.
- Starting three winter seasonal MCO routes early on December 19: CMH, GRR and SDF.
El AL (LY)
- Added Consumer Electronic Show (CES) service from TLV to LAS in January.
Fronter (F9)
- Filed new service from DTW to LGA from November onward.
- Suspended DFW to SAN from December 1-17.
Israir (6H)
- Extended new TLV to JFK service from October onward.
JetBlue (B6)
- Suspended five routes seasonally:
- BUF, JAX and RIC to SJU from November 1- 18.
- JFK to SAV and SJD from January 5 through February 10.
Korean (KE)
- Increased ICN to SEA service to twice daily from December onward.
Norse (N0/Z0)
- Suspended London-Gatwick (LGW) and Rome (FCO) to JFK from October 25 onward.
United (UA)
- Increased capacity on LAX to SFO to 14 daily flights.
- Increased capacity from April onward in LAX to MRY and extended the schedule from May onward in ORD to MRY.
- Suspended EWR to Trinidad and Tobago (POS) from June onward.
Viva (VB)
- Suspended two routes from February to mid-March: Monterrey (MTY) to MIA and Leon (BJX) to SAT.
