Air Arabia Group has 69 European routes; brand-new Sharjah-London LGW is #1

Air Arabia London

The Air Arabia Group has five units, each with a separate AOC and operating licence. They are the original Sharjah-based airline Air Arabia (IATA code G9), Air Arabia Abu Dhabi (in partnership with Etihad; 3L), Air Arabia Egypt (E5), Air Arabia Maroc (3O) and Pakistan’s Fly Jinnah (9P).

Cirium schedule data for the second half of 2026 shows that all those units, except Fly Jinnah, serve Europe (including Russia and Turkey). They collectively have 1.4 million one-way seats in this period, which is down very slightly from the same six months last year.

96% of the capacity is provided by Air Arabia Maroc and Air Arabia

Each unit serving Europe is shown below. Despite the ongoing war in Iran, the original airline is the only one to have grown year-over-year. This is intriguing, as some other Gulf carriers have reduced capacity.

  • Air Arabia Maroc: 786,000 one-way seats to Europe in the second half of 2026 (-5% year-over-year); 45 routes from Casablanca (15), Tangier (11), Nador (seven), Fez (six), Rabat (five) and TTU (one)
  • Air Arabia: 554,000 (+13%); from Sharjah (17) and Ras Al Khaimah (two)
  • Air Arabia Egypt: 43,000 (-6%); from Cairo (two) and Alexandria (one)
  • Air Arabia Abu Dhabi: 18,000 (-61%); from the UAE capital (two)

Big route changes for some of the units

Sharjah, which is next to Dubai, has benefited from brand-new routes to London LGW (4 July 2026; 2-daily) and Rome FCO (11 July 2026; daily). They exist, in part, to feed flights beyond Sharjah, including to South Asia and Southeast Asia. However, service to Sochi ended in October 2025.

Strong year-on-year growth was seen from Sharjah to Prague (started 3 November 2025; daily) and Munich (15 December 2025; daily). However, some routes from the UAE airport to Turkey and Russia have seen big capacity reductions, especially Moscow DME (-48%).

Air Arabia Maroc’s European network has fallen from 55 routes to Europe in the second half of last year to 45 now. Gone are Casablanca to Geneva, Fez to Amsterdam, Paris CDG and Strasbourg, Nador to Frankfurt HHN and Strasbourg, Oujda to Paris CDG, Tangier to Girona, Montpellier and Paris CDG. The unit no longer serves Geneva, Girona, HHN, Oudja or Strasbourg.

While Air Arabia Egypt has not cut any European routes in the examined period, its Abu Dhabi sibling no longer operates between the UAE capital and Istanbul SAW. The final service was in February 2026. Pegasus still has flights (daily).

Sharjah-LGW is the top route

At the Air Arabia Group level, 69 routes to Europe are available in the last six months of 2026. 14 countries in Europe are served, unchanged from last year. With 211,000 one-way seats, up by 15%, Italy has the most capacity. It has jumped four places, overtaking Russia, France, Spain and Turkey. 11 routes to Italy exist from Alexandria (one), Cairo (one), Sharjah (two) and Casablanca (seven).

Despite being brand-new, Sharjah-LGW, with 76,000 one-way seats, is now the Group’s leading European market. The A321LR is used to the UK’s second-busiest airport. It has overtaken Sharjah-DME for the top spot.
