Air Service One – Bitesize Analysis of the Day – 17th February 2026 – Busiest Polish Airports 2010-2025

ASO Bitesize Analysis

With CONNECT Aviation – Route Development Forum taking place in Lublin this week, it is a good time to reflect on the impressive growth in the Polish air travel market in recent years.

Poland’s seven busiest airports, which handle over 90% of the country’s total airline traffic, have seen passenger numbers grow from under 20 million in 2010 to almost 63 million in 2025. That works out as an average growth rate across those 15 years of just over 8% per annum. In the decade prior to the pandemic, passenger growth had averaged just over 10% per annum.

Warsaw’s main airport consistently handled between 41% and 50% of all passenger traffic across these seven biggest airports. A second commercial airport serving the Polish capital, Warsaw-Modlin Airport, opened for regular services in the second half of 2012. Ryanair and Wizz Air have been the primary users of the airport since it opened.

Dublin Airport

Between 2010 and 2025 Warsaw WAW has seen traffic grow by 177%. However, it has been outperformed by Poznan Airport (+192%), Katowice Airport (+204%), Port Lotniczy Wrocław S.A. (Wroclaw Airport) (+196%), Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport (+234%) and Kraków Airport (+362%). All six of these airports reported double-digit growth in 2025.
