Air Service One – Bitesize Analysis of the Day – 18th June 2026 – KLM at Amsterdam: route evolution

This summer KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has launched flights from Amsterdam to three new destinations according to AIR SERVICE ONE analysis of Cirium schedules data. They are Asturias and Santiago de Compostela in Spain, and the island of Jersey. In addition, Miami and San Jose in Costa Rica are now year-round destinations. The only route to be dropped this summer is Palma de Mallorca, which was launched in the summer of 2021.

In total, KLM will be serving a record 152 destinations with non-stop flights from Amsterdam this summer, with Heathrow and BER – Berlin Brandenburg Airport being the routes with the most flights. In terms of ASKs (Available Seat Kilometres) the leading routes are Los Angeles and New York JFK.

Among the routes started and subsequently dropped is a UK airport that many people may have forgotten about. KLM served Manston Airport in the south-east of England with double-daily Fokker 70 service, between April 2013 and April 2014. This was the airport’s last commercial service to date.
