The top seven Turkish airports in 2023 fall into two distinct groups when it comes to their seasonality profile. iGA Istanbul Airport, ISG – Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport and the airport serving the capital, Ankara, all have relatively flat demand profiles across the year.

By contrast Fraport TAV Antalya Airport, Dalaman Airport and Bodrum Airport have extremely seasonal demand profiles as might be expected from airports serving popular holiday destinations.

In August 2023 Antalya welcomed 5.69m passengers, over 50% more than were handled at Istanbul SAW that month. That made Antalya Europe’s 6th busiest airport in August, ahead of Madrid, Barcelona and London Gatwick.
