Münster/Osnabrück Airport
Located in north-west Germany, between the cities of Münster and Osnabrück, Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) serves the regions of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. The eastern part of the Netherlands is also close to the airport. FMO is attracting an increasing share of passengers from its neighbouring country.
In 2025, FMO handled 1,253,780 passengers, representing a slight decrease of 2% compared to 2024. Despite the suspension of the high-volume FMO-FRA route, the airport has maintained its high passenger numbers. The airport is among the best-recovered airports in Germany, with passenger numbers up 26% on those in 2019.
Its USP of being open 24/7 without slot restrictions is a clear advantage that not many German airports have. In recent years, the airport has invested in modernising its infrastructure to improve passenger satisfaction: restaurant and shopping facilities have been upgraded, a new lounge has been opened, sanitary facilities have been modernised and car parks have been improved.
