Qantas is Perth’s largest carrier by available capacity, accounting for over 36% of all seats in 2024. It is followed by Virgin Australia and Qantas’ low-cost subsidiary Jetstar. The largest international carrier is Singapore Airlines (by seat capacity) followed by Air Asia.

Qantas and Perth Airport have reached an agreement which will see the airport develop a new passenger terminal for the Australian flag carrier and Jetstar. As a result, the two airlines plan to add 4.4 million seats to and from Perth annually by the time the new terminal opens in 2031.The hub will significantly enhance inbound tourism and give Australians more options when travelling to Asia, Africa, India, and Europe.

With a third of Western Australia’s population born overseas and a high per capita average income than the rest of Australia, Perth also has a strong outbound visiting friends and relatives (VFR) and leisure market. The airport is confident it will be handling 20 million passengers per year by 2030.
