Prague Airport has emerged as one of Europe’s fastest growing, handling 16.35 million passengers in 2024 alone. The figure represents a year-on-year increase of 18%. Over the year, Prague Airport saw the launch of 41 new routes and offered nonstop flights to 181 destinations.

Prague Airport’s catchment area encompasses not only Prague but also the broader region of Bohemia, drawing passengers from nearby cities and towns. The airport is an essential access point for tourists visiting the historic and cultural sites of Prague and the surrounding regions, as well as for business travellers heading to the Czech capital and Central Europe.

Prague Airport serves as a base for the Czech Republic’s main carrier Smartwings, as well as an operating base for low-cost airlines Ryanair and Eurowings. Furthermore, in 2025, it will become a base for Condor. The airport maintains a balanced presence of both legacy and low-cost carriers, with the available scheduled capacity almost evenly split between the two.

Prague Airport also offers a growing number of long-haul services. These include New York, Beijing, Taipei, Seoul, Dubai, Doha, Tashkent and Astana. In 2025, the airport will enhance its long-haul network with new services to Abu Dhabi by Etihad Airways, Toronto by Air Canada, and an additional route to Seoul operated by Asiana Airlines.

Given the robust demand for long-haul leisure travel in the Czech market and its extensive catchment area, Prague Airport features seasonal charter flights to distant destinations such as Vietnam, Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Exploring untapped potential in the Asian region, Prague Airport sees significant development opportunities in facilitating nonstop flights to Hanoi, Bangkok and New Delhi.

In 2024, the Prague to London route was the most popular among travellers, with nearly 1.4 million passengers flying between these two cities. In addition, the UK continued to be Prague’s largest country market in terms of available capacity.
