AnimaWings adds 17 Routes In 2026; 9 new airports will join its map

AnimaWings at Istanbul

AnimaWings is a Romanian carrier (IATA code A2). According to Planespotters.net, it currently has five aircraft: three 137-seat A220-300s and two 180-seat A320ceos. Its fleet averages 6.2 years, driven by its A320s (14.2 years).

Cirium schedule data for the first 10 months of 2026 (January-October) shows 1.3 million two-way seats. Capacity is 162% higher than the same period in 2025.

This expansion is partly due to the introduction of 17 scheduled routes in 2025, based on those that are still served. They included five routes to Istanbul IST (from Bucharest OTP, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Iasi, and Timisoara). The most recent addition was the 27 December 2025 commencement of OTP-Abu Dhabi. A further 17 routes are already known for 2026.

Some 34 airports in its network

Cirium data for January-October 2026 shows 34 airports will see AnimaWings on a scheduled basis. Athens, Geneva, Kavala, London LGW, Milan MXP, Munich, Nice, Olbia and Rhodes are new to its network this year. However, compared to 2025, it will no longer serve Kittilä, Sibiu or Sofia.

Bucharest OTP is, of course, its most-served airport, with seats up by 245% year-over-year. It is OTP’s fourth-largest airline, behind Wizz Air, Ryanair and TAROM. But it only has 6% of the capacity.

Shannon Airport

AnimaWings has 27 routes from Romania’s busiest airport, comprising five domestic and 22 international markets. New additions in 2026 are Antalya, Geneva, Kavala, London LGW, Milan MXP, Munich and Thessaloniki.

Plans 51 routes until October

AnimaWings has scheduled 51 routes between January and October, of which five are domestic and 46 are international. The domestic market accounts for 60% of its capacity. This reflects generally higher-frequency offerings and that many of the 17 new international markets start in or after March.

The airline’s top four routes are domestic. With 83,000 one-way seats, they’re led by Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca, which connects the country’s top-most populous cities. AnimaWings flies 13-weekly in March, against TAROM’s 13-weekly offering and HiSky Europe’s 12-weekly service.
