Bangkok delivers memorable backdrop for 158th IATA Slot Conference
Bangkok played host to the global aviation scheduling community from 9 to 11 June, as the 158th IATA Slot Conference took place at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre.
The three-day event brought together more than 1,300 delegates from over 250 airlines and 300 airports worldwide, making it one of the largest gatherings of aviation network planners and airport representatives. In addition, seventy exhibitors and sponsors were on hand to showcase their products and services.
While the conference is best known for its packed schedule of meetings and slot negotiations, it also provided plenty of opportunities for networking and reconnecting with industry colleagues from across the globe.
Delegates enjoyed Bangkok’s warm hospitality, vibrant atmosphere and excellent food, which helped create a welcoming setting for both business and social interactions.
One of the highlights came on the second evening when Airports of Thailand (AOT) hosted the Network Reception. Designed to give visitors a taste of Thailand, the event featured a traditional welcome show, live music, a concert and an after-party that kept the conversations going long after the formal meetings had ended.
Bangkok proved to be an excellent host for another successful edition of the IATA Slot Conference with its strong attendance, a busy exhibition floor and countless networking opportunities.
Attention now turns to the upcoming 159th IATA Slot Conference taking place 17 -19 November in Budapest, where industry colleagues will once again come together to plan future schedules, strengthen partnerships and discuss the latest developments shaping the industry
