Copenhagen is SAS’s top hub; Q2 seats up 14% over prior record; 13 new routes

SAS Copenhagen-Riga

When all of SAS’s operations are considered, Cirium schedule data shows that the SkyTeam airline has scheduled 10.9 million seats in Q2 2026 (April-June). Compared to the same three months last year, its offering has jumped by a remarkable 14%. It is its fourth-highest Q2 on record.

Some 5.3 million two-way seats are available to/from Copenhagen, which is overwhelmingly SAS’s most-served hub. It has over two million more seats than Stockholm ARN, which ranks second.

In recent times, SAS has increasingly focused on Copenhagen as its primary hub. It has never been more important. The airline is planning record capacity in the examined three months. Available seats have jumped by 26% compared to last year’s record, while they’re up by 40% compared to before the pandemic in 2019.

13 routes have been added from Copenhagen

Using Cirium data to compare SAS’s route network from the Danish capital in Q2 2025 with what is available in Q2 2026 shows that 13 routes have been added. This is based on having at least two departing flights from Copenhagen in the examined period.

The routes are as follows. The frequencies reflect what is scheduled in the last week of June 2026 but may differ at other times.

Reference to ‘new route’ applies if the stated market has not been served by SAS since at least 2004. Five of the routes are new, including both long-haul additions. The airline last flew from Copenhagen to India in 2009, when Delhi was served. Now it is the turn of Mumbai. Meanwhile, Denmark did not have scheduled service to South Korea until 2025.
