Dublin Airport and Tourism Ireland unite at Routes Asia

Dublin Airport and Tourism Ireland are jointly promoting Ireland at Routes Asia 2026, currently taking place in Xi’an in China. The two are engaging with airlines to develop new routes and strengthen connectivity with Asian markets.
The event provides a platform to present a combined aviation and tourism proposition, backed by strong demand, economic resilience and long-term growth ambitions. Dublin Airport, which handled a record 36.4 million passengers in 2025, positions itself as a key gateway for tourism, trade and investment.
Together, the two organisations are offering airlines a clear case for new and expanded services, combining commercial support with market insight and destination marketing expertise.
Ireland is being pitched as a high-potential market supported by a strong business base, diverse airline mix and a globally connected diaspora.
Dublin Airport continues to see growing demand from Asia, with additional opportunities for both direct services and expanded connectivity via partner hubs.
Commenting on the partnership, Eoin McGloughlin, Vice President of Aviation Business Development at Dublin Airport, said Routes Asia is a key forum for engaging with fast-growing markets, with both organisations highlighting a data-driven approach to route development. He noted that by partnering with Tourism Ireland, Dublin Airport is presenting airlines with a strong, evidence-based proposition, underpinned by tourism demand, economic resilience and the airport’s proven ability to support growth.
Tourism Ireland added that participation in the event supports efforts to diversify source markets, while reinforcing the country’s position as a leading leisure and business destination.
Airlines attending the forum are being invited to explore new opportunities with Dublin Airport and Tourism Ireland, with discussions focused on long-term partnerships, sustainable growth and expanding Ireland’s global air links.
