Jet2.com adds North African sunshine destination from Birmingham

Low-cost carrier and tour operator Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has announced the launch of flights and package holidays from Birmingham to Tunisia for the 2027 summer season, further expanding its leisure network from the UK’s second-largest regional airport.

The new service will operate twice per week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 1 May until 30 October 2027. The flights will provide passengers from the Midlands with direct access to a range of popular Tunisian holiday destinations, including Hammamet, Port El Kantaoui, Sousse, Mahdia, Skanes and Yasmine Hammamet.

The addition of Tunisia comes in response to strong demand from holidaymakers and independent travel agents, according to the airline.

Tunisia becomes the latest addition to Jet2.com’s growing route network from Birmingham Airport, where the carrier is set to serve 68 destinations during the 2027 summer season. Other recently announced routes from the airport include Bergerac, Hurghada, Jersey, Kavala and Sharm el Sheikh.

Birmingham Airport handled a record 13.7 million passengers in 2025 and currently offers nonstop services to 145 destinations, with onward connections to more than 650 destinations worldwide. The airport serves a catchment area of over nine million people within a one-hour drive and handles approximately 1.6 million business passengers each year.

The airport is currently undertaking a £300 million investment programme aimed at supporting future growth and increasing capacity.
