LOT Polish Airlines celebrates 95 years of service with 84 airports served in Q3

95 years of LOT

LOT Polish Airlines has been a prominent player in the aviation industry for nearly a century. Marking its 95th anniversary this year, it has weathered significant historical and economic changes, evolving into one of Central and Eastern Europe’s largest airlines.

In the past decade alone, LOT has grown considerably. According to Cirium schedules data, available seats in Q3 (July – September) rose 123%. Not surprisingly, this is due to international expansion (+143%) and not the domestic market (+52%).

While capacity remains 11% below the record high of Q3 2019, LOT Polish Airlines is the sixth-largest carrier serving Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). If Russia is excluded from the equation considering existing flight bans, LOT is number three in CEE behind Wizz Air and Ryanair. It is the largest full-service network carrier.
