New Route of the Day (1 April 2025): Ryanair between Malaga and Münster/Osnabrück

Ryanair added flights between Malaga and Münster/Osnabrück on Tuesday 1 April. The 1,970-kilometre service will be maintained 2-weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with the 737-800 aircraft. The carrier faces no competition on the route. It follows the introduction of flights between London STN and Münster/Osnabrück on 30 March.
Ryanair now serves six destinations from Münster/Osnabrück
The addition of both Malaga and London STN from Münster/Osnabrück will see Ryanair maintain up to 24-weekly flights from the German airport this summer season. The two destinations will complement existing services to Mallorca, Alicante, Zadar and Corfu.
Münster/Osnabrück has been without a UK connection since 2015 when Flybe (Stobart Air) flew to London SEN. Before that, airberlin had London STN flights until 2011 and CityJet had London LCY service between 2012 and 2014.
Ryanair is Münster/Osnabrück’s third-largest airline by scheduled seat capacity. In 2024, it accounted for 14% of all scheduled seats at the airport.
Münster/Osnabrück is Germany’s fastest-growing airport
Münster/Osnabrück is unusual in Germany. It operates on a 24/7 basis with no slot restrictions. It welcomed almost 1.3 million passengers in 2024, surpassing 991,500 in 2023 by 30%. Strong leisure demand helped Münster/Osnabrück become Germany’s fastest-growing airport. This result does not come from a low base as Münster/Osnabrück was already one of the few airports in Germany to have more than recovered from the pandemic in 2023.
Its growth was helped by the expansion of multiple incumbent carriers, particularly Ryanair and SunExpress. It also benefited from the arrival of Air Anka, Condor, Mavi Gök Airlines, Pegasus and Sundair, the latter of which based an aircraft at the airport in the 2024/25 winter season.
