ARN-MPL

Norwegian introduced a new service between Stockholm ARN and Montpellier on Saturday 16 May. The 2,025-kilometre journey will be maintained 2-weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with a mix of 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The LCC does not face any competition between the two.

Flight D84317 departs Stockholm ARN at 06:40 local time, arriving in Montpellier at 09:50. The return service, operating as flight D84318, takes off at 10:30 local time, touching back down in the Swedish capital at 13:35.

What they said

Charlotte Holmbergh, Country Director Corporate Affairs at Norwegian, said: “We’re very happy to be able to offer even more destinations next summer, which means that Swedish travellers now have an even greater choice. These new routes mean that Norwegian will start seven new routes in Sweden in summer 2026, offering a total of 72 routes to 64 destinations. We look forward to welcoming travellers on board.”

Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at airport operator Swedavia, added: “Norwegian’s investment in the Swedish air travel market is a clear sign of the high demand for international travel to and from Sweden. This new route plays an important role in connecting Sweden to a well-established market in Europe.”

Norwegian is Stockholm ARN’s second-largest airline

Norwegian has 3.77 million seats on its Stockholm ARN flights this summer season. The figure represents an increase of 7.5% compared to the same period last year. It is behind only SAS with 7.23 million seats, based on the amount of scheduled capacity offered out of Sweden’s busiest airport.

This summer, Norwegian is introducing two new routes from the Swedish capital, with Montpellier complemented by Basel. The LCC was also due to commence flights to the Lebanese capital of Beirut, however, the ongoing situation in the Middle East has resulted in its cancellation.
