New Route of the Day (13 October 2021): Virgin Atlantic between London LHR and Saint Vincent

Virgin Atlantic began a new service on 13 October from London LHR to Argyle International Airport (IATA code SVD) serving Saint Vincent and The Grenadines in the Caribbean. The new route will operate 2-weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays) via Bridgetown in Barbados in both directions. Virgin is using A330-300s on the route. The airport in Saint Vincent is a relatively new facility, which only opened after some considerable delay, in February 2017.
According to Cirium Data and Analytics schedule information, apart from regional routes around the Caribbean operated by Caribbean Airlines and InterCaribbean Airways, there are also non-stop links in November to two US destinations; Miami (with American) and New York JFK (with Caribbean Airlines).
What they said
Hannah Swift, Country Manager, Caribbean at Virgin Atlantic commented: “We couldn’t be more excited to launch the first flight from St Vincent and the Grenadines to Europe with our new twice-weekly service. We’re currently flying to the UK from Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua and Grenada and expect to restart Tobago and Havana, Cuba in the upcoming months. We also look forward to launching new services from the Bahamas as well as St Lucia, as we continue to expand our services from the Caribbean to the UK. We are incredibly excited to welcome customers onboard as they fly off on holiday or travel to visit loved ones.”
