New Route of the Day (16 February 2022): Flyr between Oslo and Milan BGY

OSL - BGY

Flyr added another new destination from its Oslo base when it began service to Milan BGY on Wednesday 16 February. The Norwegian carrier, which only launched its first flights at the end of June 2021, will serve the Italian airport 2-weekly (Wednesdays and Saturdays) with its fleet of five 737-800s. The 1,620-kilometre route faces no direct competition. However, Norwegian (2-weekly, Thursdays and Sundays) and SAS (weekly on Saturdays) both connect Oslo with Milan MXP.

This is the third of three new routes launched by Flyr targeting the ski market, having recently also started service from Oslo to Geneva (3 February) and Salzburg (5 February).

Helping to expand the airline’s network, Flyr has just announced some new international routes from Bergen and Stavanger. Alicante, Malaga and Nice will be served from both airports this summer, while Zadar will be an option from Bergen and Palma de Mallorca from Stavanger.
