New Route of the Day (16 March 2022): Aurigny between Guernsey and Dublin
Aurigny (IATA code GR) the regional carrier based in Guernsey (one of the Channel Islands between England and France) launched a new route on Wednesday 16 March between Guernsey and Dublin. Originally set to launch at the beginning of the summer season at the end of March, the launch was brought forward to enable passengers to get to Ireland in time for St. Patrick’s Day, which is on 17 March. Normally the route will operate 3-weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using one of the airline’s three 72-seat ATR 72-600s. However, to celebrate the inaugural service on the 510-kilometre route, the airline wheeled out its sole 122-seat Embraer E195 (registration G-NSEY – which almost spells Guernsey), which usually operates the airline’s multiple-daily service to London LGW.
Apart from Dublin and Gatwick, Aurigny is also currently offering non-stop service from Guernsey to Alderney, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Exeter, Leeds Bradford and Manchester. The airline is also offering one-off ‘European Summer Short Breaks’ to Edinburgh, Ibiza, Nice, Palma de Mallorca, Porto and Prague, as well as three trips to Madrid and six to Barcelona. Porto has already sold out, while return fares on the Nice break in October start at £408.
