New Route of the Day (19 April 2024): Twin Jet between Toulouse and Nice


Twin Jet (IATA code T7) on Friday 19 April launched service between the two southern French cities of Toulouse and Nice. The 470-kilometre route will be operated 4-weekly by the airline using its 19-seat Beechcraft 1900Ds. There will be a flight on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It competes directly against easyJet’s 2-weekly rotations between the two cities.

Flight T73617 departs Toulouse at 17:45 local time, arriving in Nice at 19:05. The inbound service, operating as flight T73617, takes off at 19:35 local time, touching back down in Toulouse at 20:55.

Twin Jet has 11 routes

Set up in May 2001, Twin jet currently operates a fleet 13 Beechcraft aircraft. The company runs around 200 weekly regional flights to serve 11 destinations across France and Italy. They include Le Puy-en-Velay, Lyon, Marseille, Mende, Metz Nancy, Nice, Toulouse, Paris ORY , Rennes, Bologna and Milan MXP. Six of the carrier’s 11 routes started since January 2022.

Its routes cover an average distance of 430 kilometres, with the 700-kilometre link from Toulouse to Metz Nancy being its longest airport pair. These flights often take 90 minutes, based on Flightradar24 information.

Twin Jet is a partner of the Air France – KLM Flying Blue loyalty program, offering passengers a point of difference to its only competitor easyJet. The two go head-to-head on two routes.

Nice linked to 122 destinations this summer

During S24, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is operating a bigger network of destinations than during the pre-pandemic 2019, as it will consist of 122 cities, 103 of which are international, spread across 45 countries. Furthermore, it will boast a record 13 long-haul services.

This summer sees the addition of 20 new routes, including 12 new destinations. These are: Agadir (easyJet), Aalborg (Norwegian), Abu Dhabi (Etihad Airways), Alicante (easyJet), Kefalonia (easyJet), Faro (Transavia France), Malta (easyJet), Nuremberg (Eurowings), Philadelphia (American), Rabat (easyJet), Tenerife (easyJet), and Yerevan (Flyone).
