New Route of the Day 2 (30 March 2023): Transavia between Eindhoven and Bordeaux
Transavia on Thursday 30 March introduced a new 4-weekly service from its Eindhoven base to Bordeaux. The 865-kilometre route will face no direct competition, operating on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays with the 737-800 aircraft. Despite boasting a number of bases, Eindhoven becomes the first in its network to offer a connection to Bordeaux in France’s southwest.
Transavia’s French unit outgrows Dutch operations
A subsidiary of Air France-KLM, Transavia will serve 27 destinations out of Eindhoven this summer. It is the second biggest carrier at the airport, behind Ryanair.
Comprising of two units, the original Netherlands operation (IATA code HV) and Transavia France (TO), the latter has been delivering much of the growth over the past year and this summer included. According to Cirium schedules information data, the Dutch unit has 3.58 million one-way seats during S23 compared to 5.98 million by its French counterpart, The new service between Eindhoven and Bordeaux is operated by its Netherlands operation.
