New Route of the Day (2 December 2021): Binter Canarias between Gran Canaria and A Coruña

The first two days of December have seen Binter Canarias (IATA code NT) add two new routes to mainland Spain from its base at Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. On 1 December it began 2-weekly service (Wednesdays and Sundays) on the 2,100-kilometre route to San Sebastian in the Basque region of Spain. The following day, 2-weekly service (Thursdays and Sundays) was added on the 1,820-kilometre route to A Coruña. While the former route is not served by any other carrier, Vueling will compete on the latter route, as it also offers 2-weekly flights.

Binter Canarias uses its new Embraer E195-E2s on the new routes. It currently has five of the type in its fleet (two of which were delivered this year), configured with 132 seats, according to planespotters.net. Earlier this year the airline used these aircraft to launch a number of international routes from Gran Canaria. The rest of the airline’s fleet comprises almost 30 ATR 72s which are used for services between the various Canary Islands airports.
