New Route of the Day (21 October 2021): British Airways between London LHR and Antalya
British Airways on 21 October began connecting London LHR with Antalya, currently Europe’s second busiest airport. The service is operating 4-weekly, but only until 31 October according to both Cirium Data and Analytics schedule information and the airline’s own on-line booking tool. Despite this, the new service was still welcomed by the Turkish airport with a couple of apron banners. It is likely that the service was supposed to start much earlier in the summer but had been delayed due to Turkey being on the UK’s ‘red list’ of travel destinations.
46 weekly flights between UK and Antalya in November
Now that Turkey is no longer on the UK’s ‘red list’ there are almost 50 weekly flights planned between the UK and Antalya in November. Jet2.com is offering 33 weekly flights spread across its 10 UK bases, while easyJet offers 2-weekly flights from London LGW, London LTN and Manchester. TUI Airways has weekly flights from Birmingham, Gatwick and Manchester. Pegasus is flying 2-weekly from Stansted, while Corendon has 2-weekly service from Gatwick. In total, 12 UK airports will have non-stop service to Antalya in November with Manchester (10 weekly flights) having the most flights ahead of Stansted (seven), Birmingham (six) and Gatwick (five). Heathrow will not have any service to Antalya in November.
