New Route of the Day (23 April 2023): Lufthansa between Frankfurt and Asturias
Lufthansa introduced flights between Frankfurt and Asturias in northern Spain on Sunday 23 April. The 1,320-kilometre service will be maintained 3-weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with a mix of A319 and A320 aircraft. It faces no competition on the route. The German flag carrier will complement the new service with a weekly flight between Munich and Asturias starting 29 April.
Flight LH1552 departs Frankfurt at 13:45 local time, arriving in Asturias 16:15. The return journey, flight LH1553, takes off from Asturias at 17:00 local time, touching down in Frankfurt at 19:35.

Asturias sees complete recovery
Asturias Airport welcomed 1.45 million passengers in 2022, according to Aena data, representing an increase of 2.6% versus 2019. It surpassed its pre-pandemic figures every month since May 2022. The return of Ryanair in November, after a near ten-year absence, assisted the development, likewise growth by incumbents Volotea and Vueling.
