FRA-SNN

Discover Airlines, a Lufthansa Group subsidiary, launched seasonal flights between Frankfurt and Shannon on Saturday 25 April. The 1,250-kilometre service will be maintained weekly with the A320 aircraft. The carrier is the sole operator between the two cities.

Flight 4Y1500 departs Frankfurt at 10:05 local time, arriving in Shannon at 11:15 local time. The return service, operating as flight 4Y1501, takes off at 12:00 local time, touching back down at Germany’s busiest airport at 15:05 local time.

Services will be maintained until 24 October.

What they said

Niall Kearns, Airport Director of Shannon Airport, said: “The launch of new routes is always special, and we’re excited to welcome our first Frankfurt bound passengers through Shannon on Saturday. This service opens up opportunities for both business travel and inbound tourism. Germany is a key market for Ireland, and having a direct link from a major European hub to the Wild Atlantic Way is a real advantage, helping to bring more visitors into the region and supporting local hotels, attractions, restaurants and businesses along the west coast”.
