New Route of the Day (29 December 2024): Vueling between Paris ORY and Ivalo
Vueling launched seasonal winter operations between Paris ORY and Ivalo in northern Finland on Sunday 29 December. The 2,605-kilometre route will be maintained weekly with the A320 aircraft. The LCC competes against Transavia France which also flies between the two airports weekly. Vueling’s service will be maintained until 29 March.
Flight VY8560 takes off from Paris ORY at 12:35 local time, arriving in Ivalo at 17:30 local time. The return service, operating as flight VY8561 departs the Finnish city at 18:20 local time, touching back down at Orly Airport at 21:15 local time.

Thanks to these routes, the record growth in tourism in Lapland will continue in the future.”
Ten airlines to serve Ivalo this winter
Located in the Lapland region in northern Finland, Ivalo serves as a gateway to the Arctic and is known for its natural beauty, including vast forests, pristine rivers, and snow-covered landscapes. It has become increasingly popular due to the winter activities it offers, as well as the possibility of viewing the Northern Lights.
During W24/25 Ivalo Airport is served by ten different airlines. Apart from Vueling, British Airways also introduced flights to the city this ongoing winter, while Austrian Airlines will join with a service from Vienna starting 25 January.
All carriers operating scheduled flights to Ivalo do so during the winter, the only exception being Finnair, which maintains year-round services to Helsinki, with flights to Kirkenes to be added on 1 April.
Other carriers serving Ivalo include Edelweiss from Zurich, Eurowings from Dusseldorf, Lufthansa from Frankfurt, Transavia from both Amsterdam and Paris ORY, as well as TUI Airways and TUIfly Netherlands from London LGW, Manchester, and Amsterdam.
