New Route of the Day (29 March 2026): LATAM between Sao Paulo GRU and Amsterdam

LATAM inaugurated flights between Sao Paulo GRU and Amsterdam on Sunday 29 March. The 9,750-kilometre route will be maintained 6-weekly, every day except Wednesdays, with the 300-seat 787-9 aircraft. It will compete against a daily KLM service.
Flight LA8078 departs Sao Paulo GRU at 18:00 local time, arriving in Amsterdam at 10:50 local time the following morning. The return service, operating as flight LA8079, takes off each day except Thursdays at 13:10 local time, touching back down at Guarulhos at 20:15 local time.
What they said
Aline Mafra, Director of Sales and Marketing at LATAM Brazil, said: “The new route to Amsterdam expands Brazil’s connectivity with Europe in a consistent and strategic way, strengthening access to one of the continent’s main economic and logistical hubs and creating another important gateway to the region. In addition to meeting passenger demand, the operation also boosts cargo transport and contributes to the development of tourism and foreign trade.”
Marcelo Freixo, President of the Brazilian Tourist Board, added: “The opening of a new LATAM destination in Europe, something that hasn’t happened since 2018, is the result of the serious work of many teams, while also establishing a positive outlook for the growth of tourist flow from Europe to Brazil. The number of Dutch visitors arriving has been growing faster than the European average, and this new flight will help us reach even further. The connection with Brazil’s largest airport opens up opportunities not only for tourism in Sao Paulo, but for all Brazilians.”
LATAM now links Brazil with nine European destinations
South America’s largest carrier now maintains flights from Brazil to nine European cities. Apart from Amsterdam, they include Barcelona, Frankfurt, Lisbon, London LHR, Madrid, Milan MXP, Paris CDG and Rome FCO. This will be further expanded with the addition of Brussels BRU on 1 June.
All the carrier’s European services from Brazil are served out of Sao Paulo GRU, with exception to Lisbon, which is also operated out of Florianopolis.
During the height of the 2026 summer season, LATAM will maintain 74-weekly flights from Brazil to Europe, offering 26,454 departing seats per week.
