New Route of the Day 3 (31 March 2023): Austrian Airlines between Vienna and Marseille

Austrian Airlines introduced a brand new seasonal service between Vienna and Marseille on Friday 31 March. The 1,020-kilometre route will be maintained 3-weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with a mix of 180-seat A320s and 120-seat E195s. Austrian Airlines competes directly against Ryanair on the route, with the latter maintaining a 5-weekly service. Austrian’s arrival at Marseille Airport means the French city will now be served by all member airlines from the Lufthansa Group.

What they said

Michael Trestl, Chief Commercial Officer at Austrian Airlines, said: “We are significantly expanding our point-to-point traffic in summer 2023, once again underlining our position as the clear number 1 in Austria. We are the most charming and trustful travel partner and consistently continue our course to connect Austria with the most beautiful places in Europe as well as the entire world in the best possible way. And this in the Austrian way – socially, ecologically and economically.”
