New Route of the Day (31 March 2024): Ryanair between Alicante and Münster/Osnabrück

ALC-FMO

Ryanair introduced a new service between Alicante and Münster/Osnabrück, northwest of Germany close to the Dutch border, on Sunday 31 March. The 1,665-kilometre route will be maintained 2-weekly, on Tuesdays and Sundays, with the ULCC facing no competition.

Münster/Osnabrück set for strong summer

In 2023, Münster/Osnabrück matched its pre-pandemic passenger levels, with the 2024 summer season expected to be equally successful.

During S24, Marabu Airlines and Condor join as new operators to Heraklion and Palma de Mallorca, with services launching on 5 May and 17 May respectively.

Mavi Gök Airlines and Pegasus Airlines also became new carriers at Münster/Osnabrück recently, with the pair commencing operations to Antalya. In addition, SunExpress is enhancing frequencies to the Turkish coastal city, with three flights per day for the entire S24.

Air Cairo is doubling frequencies to Hurghada, offering 2-weekly flights throughout the summer. Similarly, GP Aviation is ramping up frequencies to Pristina from three to five flights per week.

In addition to Ryanair’s new Alicante service, the ULCC will maintain operations from Münster/Osnabrück to Corfu (2-weekly), Palma de Mallorca (up to 12-weekly) and Zadar (2-weekly).

Ryanair adds nine new routes from Alicante

Ryanair will add a total of nine new destinations from Alicante Airport this summer, connecting the Costa Blanca tourist hotspot to cities throughout Europe.

The expansion is part of a joint effort between Ryanair and the Alicante government to grow the tourism industry while also reducing its seasonal nature.

With the routes lasting through the summer season, in addition to Münster/Osnabrück, Ryanair will add flights to Cardiff and Norwich in the UK, Rzeszow in Poland, Zagreb in Croatia, Sofia in Bulgaria, as well as a domestic service to Barcelona. All the new services will be maintained 2-weekly, with exception to Cardiff which will run weekly.

Additionally, the budget carrier will restore operations to Budapest and expand its service to Lisbon.
