New Route of the Day 4 (31 March 2023): Wizz Air between Budapest and Istanbul IST

Wizz Air introduced flights between Budapest and Istanbul IST on Friday 31 March as part of its expansion onto the Turkish market. The 1,020-kilometre service is being maintained daily with the A321 and competes against Turkish Airlines’ 21-weekly flights.

What they said

Balazs Bogats, Airline Development Director at Budapest Airport, said: “Turkey is our fifth largest country market and with the addition of Wizz Air’s new service, which will be joined by the carrier’s connection to Antalya later in the season, we will be offering more than 50 weekly flights to four popular destinations in the large peninsula. As a significant crossroad for trade and transportation between the East and the West, we’re sure there will be high demand for Wizz Air’s service to Istanbul, from both business and leisure customers.”
