New Route of the Day (9 April 2026): Transavia France between Marseille and Seville

Transavia France added flights between Marseille and Seville on Thursday 9 April. The 1,155-kilometre route will operate 2-weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, with the 737-800 aircraft. It will compete directly against Ryanair’s 5-weekly rotations between the two airports.
Flight TO4852 departs Marseille at 13:35 local time, arriving in Seville at 15:35. The return service, operating as flight TO4853, takes off at 16:20 local time, touching back down in France’s second-largest city at 18:20.
LCCs rule at Marseille Airport this summer
Ryanair, Volotea and Transavia France are the three largest carriers at Marseille Airport this summer. The trio accounts for just over 50% of the airport’s total capacity, with Ryanair alone boasting a 34.6% share.
The airport continues to benefit from new and returning routes across Southern Europe, North Africa and select long-haul markets like Canada this summer, with airlines adding frequencies and introducing seasonal links aligned with peak leisure demand.
Notably, new services such as ITA Airways from Rome FCO, launching 1 June, and SAS from Copenhagen, starting 22 June, further enhance connectivity through major hubs, while the broader network now spans over 120 destinations with nearly 40 airlines operating from the airport.
LCCs dominate in Seville as well
Ryanair is also the largest carrier in Seville this summer, followed closely by Vueling. These two LCCs hold 63% of Seville Airport’s total capacity during the summer months. They are followed by easyJet and Transavia France.
Seville’s summer network development is being driven by targeted expansion and increased connectivity to major European source markets, particularly the United Kingdom and broader Western Europe, including easyJet’s new Liverpool and Bristol services and additional links to London airports.
By late summer, the airport will also significantly improve its connectivity to the Balkans, with Air Serbia launching flights from Belgrade on 30 September. The Serbian capital acts as a major hub in southeastern Europe, with Air Serbia covering a number of markets in the region with a network of over 100 destinations.
