New Route of the Day – Americas (11 June 2026): Breeze between Tampa and Nassau

TPA-NAS

Breeze introduced a new international service by launching flights between Tampa and Nassau on Thursday 11 June. The 600-kilometre service will be maintained 2-weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, with the A220-300 aircraft. The carrier does not face any competition between the two.

Flight MX1602 departs Tampa at 07:25 local time, arriving in Nassau at 08:55. The return service, operating as flight MX1603, takes off at 09:55 local time, touching back down in the US at 11:25.

What they said

David Neeleman, Founder and CEO of Breeze, said: “This currently unserved route to the Bahamas will be a great addition to our network in Tampa and a highly desirable destination for summer travel. With Breeze’s premium product offering, we know our guests in Tampa will love this new service and we look forward to welcoming them on an upcoming flight.”

John Tiliacos, Chief Operating Officer at Tampa Airport, added: “This route is special for me. As a Bahamian born and raised in Nassau, I’m so proud to see this service between Tampa and Nassau.”

Breeze to expand Tampa base to 37 destinations

By the end of 2026, Breeze will serve 37 destinations from Tampa, including six in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Later this year, the airline plans to launch Tampa’s first-ever nonstop flights to San Jose in Costa Rica, along with new service to Cancun, Montego Bay, St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands and Punta Cana.

Breeze had been scheduled to commence its first international nonstop flights from Tampa to Montego Bay on 11 February. However, after Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica in late 2025, Breeze delayed launching its flights to the island while the country recovers. With that delay, this new route to Nassau becomes the first international destination offered by the airline from Tampa Airport.
