New Route of the Day – Americas (12 July 2026): American between Miami and Maracaibo

MIA-MAR

American continues to expand its presence in Venezuela with the introduction of flights between Miami and Maracaibo, the country’s second-largest city, on Tuesday 14 July. The 1,910-kilometre service will be maintained daily with the Embraer E175 aircraft. No other airline operates between the two.

Flight AA4325 departs Miami at 10:10 local time, arriving in Maracaibo at 13:30. The return service, operating as flight AA4316, takes off at 14:10 local time, arriving back in the US at 17:15 local time.

What they said

Nat Pieper, Chief Commercial Officer at American, said: “As Venezuela continues to recover from the devastating earthquakes on June 24, American Airlines today reaffirmed its commitment to the country with the launch of new service to Maracaibo International Airport from Miami International Airport. The expansion builds on American’s recent return to Venezuela and reinforces its role in restoring international connectivity.”

American’s 99th international destination from Miami

The new route to Maracaibo builds on American’s recent return to Caracas and makes Maracaibo the airline’s 99th international destination served from its Miami hub. The expansion comes just weeks after American became the first US airline to restore commercial service between the US and Venezuela following the lifting of long-standing flight restrictions.

Earlier this year, the airline resumed daily nonstop service between Miami and Caracas after a seven-year hiatus. The route is currently suspended due to the closure of Caracas Airport as a result of the recent earthquake. American has stated it plans to resume operations to the Venezuelan capital once commercial operations at the airport fully reopen.

The Maracaibo addition precedes another international milestone later this year, when new service between Miami and Cap-Haïtien in Haiti launches on 1 November, becoming the airline’s 100th international destination served from Miami.

The expansion is part of broader investments by the airline at Miami Airport, including the construction of a new lounge, expansion of existing premium facilities and infrastructure improvements associated with the airport’s Concourse D modernisation project.
