New Route of the Day – Americas (12 June 2026): Air Transat between Montreal and Agadir

YUL-AGA

Air Transat launched a new seasonal, weekly, nonstop service between Montreal and Agadir on Friday 12 June, expanding its Morocco network and becoming the only airline to offer flights to the coastal destination from North America. The carrier will deploy an A321XLR aircraft on the 5,730-kilometre route.

Flight TS492 departs Montreal at 17:45 local time, arriving in Agadir at 05:50 local time the following morning. The return service, operating as flight TS493, takes off at 07:20 local time, touching back down in Canada at 10:35 local time.

Operations will be maintained until 23 October.

What they said

Sebastien Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Air Transat, said: “The launch of this route to Agadir reflects our ambition to strengthen exclusive access to Morocco and expand our presence across the African continent. It responds to strong and growing demand while supporting both tourism development and closer ties between communities in Canada and Morocco.”

Siham Fettouhi, Executive Director for North America for the Moroccan National Tourist Office (MNTO), added: “The MNTO, in collaboration with Air Transat, is delighted to offer Canadians enhanced and more consistent connectivity to Agadir. As the distance between Canada and Morocco continues to shrink, both geographically and culturally, we are pleased to celebrate the experiences and destinations that make every trip to Morocco so unique for Canadian travellers. We are also honoured to see that Canadians are increasingly choosing to discover Morocco, and we view this new route as a natural continuation of the strong and growing connectivity between our two countries.”

Montreal with six destinations in Africa

Agadir becomes Air Transat’s second destination in Morocco from Montreal, complementing the carrier’s existing service to Marrakech. Located on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, Agadir is a popular seaside resort known for its long sandy beaches.

Air Transat is also adding Dakar in Senegal to its Montreal network this summer, further expanding its presence in Africa.

In addition to Air Transat, connectivity between to Africa is provided by Air Canada and Royal Air Maroc, both of which operate services to Casablanca. Air Algeria also connects Algiers with Canada’s second-largest city, while Tunisair operates flights between Montreal and the Tunisian capital, Tunis.
