New Route of the Day – Americas (13 January 2022): Avelo between New Haven and Sarasota/Bradenton
Avelo made Sarasota/Bradenton in Florida its latest route from its east coast base at New Haven in Connecticut when it launched 3-weekly flights on 13 January. The 1,775-kilometre route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays using the airline’s 737-700s. This becomes the airline’s sixth route to Florida from New Haven having already launched flights to Orlando (3 November, now operating daily), Fort Lauderdale (5 November, 5-weekly), Tampa (8 November, 4-weekly), Fort Myers (11 November, 5-weekly) and West Palm Beach (16 December, 5-weekly). These six routes generate 29 weekly flights for Avelo from New Haven, with five daily departures on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and just two departures on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Three 737-700s based at New Haven
Avelo has three 147-seat 737-700s based at New Haven, registration N701VL, N702VL and N703VL. All were previously operated by Southwest Airlines. For the week commencing Monday 17 January, the aircraft flew the following routes (FLL – Fort Lauderdale, MCO – Orlando, PBI – West Palm Beach, RSW – Fort Myers, SRQ – Sarasota/Bradenton, TPA – Tampa):
