New Route of the Day – Americas (13 June 2026): Iberia between Madrid and Toronto YYZ

Iberia inaugurated seasonal flights between Madrid and Toronto YYZ on Saturday 13 June. The 6,075-kilometre route will be maintained 5-weekly, each day except Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the A321XLR aircraft. It will compete against daily Air Canada flights.
Flight IB367 departs Madrid at 12:00 local time, arriving in Toronto YYZ at 15:00 local time. The return service, operating as flight IB368, takes off at 17:10 local time, touching back down in the Spanish capital at 06:50 local time the following morning.
Operations will be maintained until 24 October.
What they said
Juan Cierco, Corporate Director at Iberia, said: “Today, we are not just launching a new route. We are bringing people, businesses and cultures on both sides of the Atlantic closer together. Toronto now becomes part of that mission: from Spain, we are creating prosperity by connecting people with the world. Operating this service with the Airbus A321XLR also demonstrates how innovation can help us open up new markets and create fresh opportunities for both travellers and businesses.”
Almudena Maíllo, Tourism Councillor for the Madrid City Council, added: “The launch of this new route is excellent news for Madrid’s tourism sector, further strengthening the city’s connectivity with the North American market. Canada is among the ten fastest-growing source markets for visitors this year, with arrivals increasing by 9.5%. This route reflects the joint efforts of the public and private sectors to promote tourism in Madrid. It also encourages us to continue working to ensure that high-value visitors, such as Canadian travellers who will now have this new opportunity, can discover a welcoming city unlike any other in the world and fall in love with the experiences Madrid has to offer.”
Iberia’s largest-ever North American schedule
Toronto joins the largest North American schedule in Iberia’s history.
Throughout 2026, the airline will offer more than 2.2 million seats and operate up to 170-weekly flights between Spain, the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, representing an increase of nearly 13% in seat capacity compared to the previous year.
In addition to Toronto YYZ, Iberia maintains flights to New York City YYZ, Boston, Washington IAD, Chicago ORD, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orlando MCO and San Juan.
