New Route of the Day – Americas (18 June 2024): Air Canada between Montreal and Seoul ICN

Air Canada introduced another intercontinental service by launching seasonal flights between Montreal and Seoul ICN on Tuesday 18 June. The 10,600-kilometre route will run 4-weekly, departing Canada’s second largest city on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with the 298-seat 787-9 Dreamliner. It faces no competition between the two.

Flight AC67 departs Montreal at 12:35 local time, arriving in Seoul ICN at 16:25 the following afternoon. The return service, operating as flight AC68, takes off from the South Korean capital at 18:00 local time, arriving back in Canada at 18:30 local time.

Air Canada adds three long-haul Montreal routes

Air Canada has introduced nine new routes out of Montreal during S24, three of which are long-haul.

  • Austin (4-weekly)
  • Madrid (4-weekly)
  • New Orleans (3-weekly)
  • Regina (daily)
  • Saskatoon (daily)
  • Stockholm ARN (3-weekly)
  • St, Louis (daily)
  • Tulum (weekly)

The Star Alliance member has also increased frequencies on several of its log-haul routes out of Montreal when compared to last year. They include Athens, which has grown from daily to 10-weekly, Rome FCO from 8-weekly to 9-weekly, and Paris CDG from 14-weekly to 17-weekly.

Seoul ICN becomes Air Canada’s longest service out of Montreal. The airline now serves the South Korean capital from three cities, including daily operations from Toronto YYZ and Vancouver. In total, this summer, it maintains 18-weekly rotations to Seoul ICN with 6,078 departing seats from Canada each week.
