New Route of the Day – Americas (19 November 2022): Breeze between Syracuse and Tampa

Breeze, Syracuse - Tampa

Breeze has become the latest carrier to offer service on the 1,780-kilometre route between Syracuse in the state of New York and Tampa in Florida. The 2-weekly service launched just in time for Thanksgiving on Saturday 19 November, but takes a break from 26 November until 17 December when service will resume. For a few weeks in January and February frequency is reduced to weekly (on Saturdays). Flights are currently bookable until 13 May.

Earlier this year, Frontier was offering non-stop flights between the two airports but service was suspended in April. At that point Southwest began offering a weekly service but this ended in early September. However, Cirium data shows Southwest resuming service on the route in March 2023.

Third route from Syracuse

Breeze began serving Syracuse on 10 June this year when it launched 2-weekly service to both Charleston and Las Vegas. Both routes continue to operate this winter using the airline’s A220-300s. Syracuse reported a total of 244,077 passengers in October, just over 15% more than in September. More significantly, demand is up 4.9% versus October 2019. A total of eight carriers now serve Syracuse Hancock International Airport. The others are Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest and United.
