New Route of the Day – Americas (21 May 2026): American between Philadelphia and Prague

American added service between Philadelphia and Prague on Thursday 21 May. The 6,720-kilometre seasonal route will be maintained daily with the 234-seat 787-8 aircraft. The oneworld member is the sole operator between the two cities.

Flight AA284 departs Philadelphia at 18:05 local time, arriving in Prague at 08:15 local time the following morning. The return service, operating as flight AA285, takes off at 10:15 local time, touching back down in the US at 13:05 local time.

Operations will be maintained until 5 October.

With this new route, our customers in the Czech Republic will also have access to one of our fastest-growing US hubs in Philadelphia, from where they can travel to more than 100 destinations in the United States and beyond.”

Jirí Pos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport, added: “We appreciate the excellent cooperation with our global partner, American Airlines, as well as other partners who supported the opening of the new route. According to our forecasts, more than 57,000 passengers will use the new connection in both directions during this summer season. We are convinced that this route will quickly gain stable passenger interest, which could further create favourable conditions for its expansion throughout the summer season and potential operations during the winter season.”

Second US route for Prague

American last maintained operations between Philadelphia and the Czech capital in October 2019, discontinuing flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prague Airport now boasts flights to both Philadelphia and New York JFK, with the latter maintained seasonally by Delta Air Lines. Prior to the pandemic, United also served Prague from New York EWR.

This summer, Prague Airport has 2-daily flights to the US with American and Delta offering a combined total of 3,115 seats per week between the two countries. Delta maintains its service with the 767-300ER.
