What they said

Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Alliances at United, said: “We know that people want to get outdoors this summer, and United is making it easier than ever to get to fun destinations across North America. From adding non-stop service to places previously only reachable through multiple connections to leveraging our relationships with airline partners like Air Canada, we’re giving customers lots of options to unlock new experiences.”

United is the largest US carrier in Canada

This summer, United offers over 150-daily flights between the US and nine Canadian destinations, strengthening its position as the dominant US carrier north of the border. Since United expanded its partnership with Air Canada in 2022, it has grown its network in Canada by over 70%.

In Calgary itself, United is also the largest US carrier. This summer, it offers 11-daily flights from the Canadian city to six destinations. Besides the newly added Los Angeles, they include San Francisco, Denver, Chicago ORD, Washington IAD and Houston. The new Los Angeles service is also the airline’s second new Calgary route in two years. Last year it added Washington IAD.

United’s operations to Calgary will peak in August, with 682 roundtrip flights and nearly 107,000 seats. Overall, the Star Alliance carrier has the largest volume of seats on the Canadian market this year since 2015.
