New Route of the Day – Americas (31 January 2024): Breeze between Tampa and Burlington

Breeze commenced flights from Tampa to Burlington in Vermont on the last day of January. The 2,015-kilometre service will be maintained 2-weekly, on Wednesdays and Fridays, with the 137-seat A220-300 aircraft. Operating primarily on underserved routes, Breeze faces no competition between the two cities.

Tampa is the first of three new destinations to be introduced by Breeze to Burlington, with 2-weekly flights from Orlando MCO to commence on 14 February and to Raleigh/Durham on May 23.

Breeze adds seven new Tampa routes

Burlington is the second of several destinations to be introduced by Breeze from Tampa this year, following the launch of its flights from the Florida airport to Gulfport on 12 January.

The carrier also plans to add services from Tampa to Plattsburgh in New York on 2 February, Madison on 7 February, Myrtle Beach and Greenville on 10 May, as well as Orange County on 31 May.

Breeze becomes the US’ 12th-largest airline

During the ongoing W23/24 season, Breeze positioned itself as the 12th– largest airline in the US, based on available seat capacity on an entirely domestic network.

Breeze’s 115-strong route map includes points in 23 states. Provo – Orange County is the LCC’s most-served winter route, with the 910-kilometre market launched on 16 February 2023. On the other hand, South Carolina’s largest city, Charleston, remains Breeze’s most-served airport.

A total of 78 of the 115 routes (68%) served by Breeze have no direct competition. The airline boasts a fleet of 37 aircraft, including 20 A220-300s, 10 E190s, and seven E195s. A further 60 A220-300s are on order.
